Commercial Lawn Maintenance Services

COMMERCIAL LAWN MAINTENANCE

Lawns need to be maintained in order to remain healthy and green. The lawn of your business requires proper fertilization, aeration, and mowing in order to look great. Aeration is especially important if your lawn receives a lot of foot or vehicle traffic, which can cause compaction. Compacted soil prevents proper drainage of water and flow of nutrients, making your lawn essentially thirst and starve to death. Aeration helps reduce soil compaction by pulling plugs of soil out of the lawn. These plugs leave holes in the lawn that allow water and nutrients to flow more freely. The plugs are left on the lawn to decompose and help fertilize. Aeration also helps reduce thatch buildup and is recommended before overseeding.

COMMERCIAL LAWN MOWING

A lawn also requires regular mowing, especially during the growing season, in order to remain well-kempt and healthy. Turf Tenders provides lawn mowing to businesses as part of our grounds maintenance package. Hire us to take care of your lawn so that you can focus on what really matters to you: running your business.

COMMERCIAL TREE & SHRUB CARE

Our arbor care program, which targets your trees and shrubs, includes deep root feedings, dormant oil, fungicide and insecticide, and Wilt-Pruf applications. These services all work together to help you protect your investment and ensure healthy trees and shrubs all year round. The deep root feedings serve to inject fertilizer deep into the soil, providing better access for the root system. The dormant oils suffocate insects, preventing them from harming your plants. Dormant oils must be applied when there are no leaves. Fungicides and Insecticides are sprayed onto the tree and soaked until runoff, and help to eradicate fungus and insects that want to destroy your trees.

If your trees or shrubs are already having a fungus or insect problem, we provide injections that go up through the vascular system of the tree, killing any insects or fungus in their path. These injections go all the way up through the leaves. Finally, the Wilt-Pruf application helps your tree to retain moisture throughout the winter and during drought. This is used when the tree is having trouble getting water, as is the case when the ground is frozen.

Our 9 Application Lawn Care Program:

Choose a customized plan that perfectly fits your yard’s needs!

Early Spring Fertilization

Completed in March, the early spring fertilizer is a complete balance of dry, granular, slow-release fertilizer for fast green-up. It’s high in nitrogen, an essential nutrient for helping your grass fight off disease and stay green and healthy.

Spring Pre-Emergent

Completed in April, the spring pre-emergent is a complete balance of fertilizer with pre-emergent crabgrass control, and broad leaf weed control as needed. Spot treating of weeds will occur as needed.

Late Spring Weed & Feed

In the late spring, we apply blanket coverage of liquid weed and feed that helps control weeds. It is a complete balance of liquid nitrogen fertilizer and broadleaf weed control. The nitrogen helps prevent summer diseases and keep the grass healthy and help green-up.

Summer Fertilization

In the summer, we apply a complete balance of dry, granular slow-release fertilizer with spot treating of weeds where needed. This works with the merit grub control, if you choose to use it.

Merit Grub Control

This is a preventative grub control to assure that grubs do not infest your turfgrass. Grubs feast on your grass roots until they mature into beetles, where they fly off and feast on your bushes and flowers. Grubs cause damage to your lawn by eating the roots, making the plant more susceptible to stress from lack of moisture.

Late Summer Weed & Feed

This is a complete balance of liquid fertilizer and broadleaf weed control.

Fall Fertilization

Our fall fertilizer is a complete balance of dry winter feeding fertilizer which promotes root development. This fertilizer may be tweaked with different nutrients depending on the needs of your lawn. This treatment is typically high in potassium, making your lawn resistant to weeds and disease.

Fall Aeration

Fall aeration is a mechanical process to breakdown thatch and soil compaction. Cores of soil are pulled out and left on the lawn, reducing thatch and soil compaction and promoting irrigation. Thatch is dead plant material that can choke out grass, so it’s important to remove it periodically from your lawn in order for the lawn to be able to take in nutrients and water. Compact soil makes it difficult for your lawn to intake adequate water. Aeration reduces compaction, making it easier for your grass to get water. Aeration also serves to make seeding easier, as the seeds won’t run off if they’re inside the holes when it rains.

Early Winter Fertilization / Winterizer

This application ensures that your lawn will stay healthy throughout the winter. If there are any warm days where there’s little snow fall and you can see your grass, it will be greener than it otherwise would be without the application. It also helps to store potassium in the roots so that there will be a quicker green-out in the spring.
