The West Bloomfield Trail offers scenic hike or bicycle adventures through 4.25 miles of unpaved, limestone- and dirt-covered surfaces perfect for hiking and biking. Formerly a railroad line, the West Bloomfield Trail traverses through wooded area, wetlands, lakes, meadows, and open grassland areas. The trail has informational markers at numerous points of interest along the way, making the hike an educational experience for those who choose to meander the trail.

The western trailhead begins at the West Bloomfield Nature Preserve near Arrowhead road, which offers a parking lot for those who want to drive to the location. The eastern trailhead is at Sylvan Manor Park. Beyond the eastern trailhead, the trail becomes known as the Clinton River Trail, which extends northwest through Pontiac, Auburn Hills and Rochester. In all, the trail connects West Bloomfield to Rochester in one continuous trail.

For those who want to rest or picnic, there are several open areas along both the West Bloomfield Trail and the Clinton River Trail for travelers to set up camp and rest. Take a camera on your journey, as both trails offer numerous picturesque vistas to take pictures.
