Turf Tenders is family owned and operated, working locally in the Metro Detroit area. Our goal is to provide our customers with gorgeous green grounds. Not only do we provide lush lawns, we specialize in many other services as well. Our services include fertilization, irrigation, landscaping, snow removal, and much more! We promise excellent service from our knowledgeable staff.

The Owner

While the owner was in college, he started Turf Tenders out of the back of his car to put himself through school. He soon enlisted his friend to help him keep up with the growing demand of business! Even at the young ages of 18 and 19 they saw the appeal and aesthetic beauty in a quality lawn. As their popularity grew, they realized that they could create a successful lawn care business. When the owner got his master’s degree, he realized that he really liked owning his own business and communicating with customers. He saw the need to take care of homeowners’ lawns. He wanted to be involved in that, in making happy faces, so he stuck with his business.

Over 30 Years Experience

With over 30 years of experience Turf Tenders is still run by two friends, and the dream continues. Their goals then are the same as today, which is to provide the best ground maintenance service around. They have succeeded in this. Turf Tenders owners, managers and staff of over 40 people thrive on providing exceptional services, personalized attention, and top-notch products. Our goal is to satisfy our customers and have them know they are not just a number but an important part of our Turf Tenders family!!

We are still expanding, even today. Turf Tenders prides itself on offering a personal touch in everything we do. Every time we come out and provide a service for you, we analyze your property to see if there’s anything else you need. We do a post-service email to let you know what we did, as well as what we recommend. If we notice that there is insect damage in your lawn, we will let you know and give you recommendations on how best to handle that. We won’t sell you services that you don’t need, and we don’t use high-pressure sales tactics. At Turf Tenders, we are all about communication, education, and fair and competitive pricing. All of our equipment is state-of-the-art. Our trucks are geared specifically toward fertilizing, and if we hear about a new product or piece of equipment that works well, we will try it out. We make sure we use the best products and equipment in all of the services that we provide. All of our equipment is new and in good condition, and regularly calibrated to make sure that everything is applied and done properly.

Our Crew

Our crew here at Turf Tenders is very professional and highly educated. We don’t just pick anyone up off the street and throw them on your lawn; our technicians receive training in house and continuing education annually at Michigan State. In addition to our commitment to continuing education, we ensure that our crew is up to date on licenses and certifications. We are licensed and insured, and certified by the State of Michigan Department of Agriculture to perform pest control.
